Funds for Women's College Fonds Benefit Community

The CCA's recent funding to assist us in the organization and description of the Alma College fonds has already yielded significant benefits in the community. Alma College was an independent school for young women that operated in St. Thomas for over a century. It closed in 1994. The CCA's funding enabled us to process this fonds much sooner than was possible with the resources available to us. The fonds has been used extensively since its launch in March 2004, including one documentary. In one instance, a researcher was able to copy a number of photographs of their now-deceased mother which were lost in a recent fire.
